Air Source Heat Pump for Intex Pool
This
above-ground pool heating guide outlines the different ways to heat an
above-ground pool. These recommendations apply to all types of above-ground
pools such as wood, plastic and metal framed pools
At Leomon
we offer a wide range of pool heaters, heat pumps, filters and covers for above
ground pools.
Adding
heat to your above-ground pool makes it more enjoyable and practical.
We
supply pool heaters for all brands of above ground pools including Intex and
Bestway etc.
There
are several options for above-ground pool heating
1. Heat
pump
Using a heat pump to heat an above-ground swimming pool is our recommended method.
Using a
heat pump to heat your swimming pool will give you the lowest running costs.
For
every 1kw of electricity consumed by the heat pump, it will output about 5kw of
heat to the swimming pool
A heat
pump collects free heat from the air and transfers it to your pool water
in
Leomon. We sell many models of heat pumps for above ground swimming pools
2.
Leomon Mini – The World’s Smallest Pool Heat Pump
The
Leomon Mini is the smallest pool heat pump in the world.
It is
designed for small above-ground pools with a water volume of up to 10 cubic
meters
The Mini
heat pump outputs 3.3kw of pool heat and consumes only 0.6kw of electricity
Mini
heat pump is very easy to install and is a "plug and play" heat pump
3. Pool
Heat Pumps for Aboveground Pools
Our
range of pool heat pumps are compact and easy to install
They are
"plug and play" and come with cables and pre-installed plugs/RCDs.
They are
available in four sizes - 5kw, 7kw, 10kw and 14kw
Please
use the table below to choose the best heat pump size for your swimming pool
Output
Power Maximum Cell Capacity
4.85kW:
12 cubic meters
6.7kW:
20 cubic meters
10.10
kW: 30 cubic meters
14.10
kW: 45 cubic meters
4. Pool
Covers for Above Ground Pools
When
heating above-ground pools, the pool water must be covered with a pool cover
We
recommend solar covers for above ground swimming pools
When the
sun is shining, the solar pool cover will heat the pool water. It also helps
keep the pool warm at night and when the pool is not in use
5. How
to Calculate Your Pool Water Level
You can
easily calculate the amount of water in the pool as follows:-
round
pool
To
calculate the volume of a circular pool, you can use the formula
Pool
volume = 3.14 x radius x radius x depth
Measure
the diameter of the pool in meters
Half the
diameter gives the radius of the pool
Multiply
by 3.14 x radius x radius x pool depth
example
A 12'
(3.66 m) diameter circular above-ground pool with a depth of 0.8 m
Diameter
= 12′ x 0.305 = 3.66m
Radius =
3.66 / 2 = 1.83m
Volume =
3.14 x 1.83 x 1.83 x 0.8m = 8.4 m3
Hot
Splash supports pools up to 10 cubic meters, so this pool is no problem
rectangular
pool
Pool
volume = length x width x depth
example
6m x 4m
pool, 0.8 m deep = 6 x 4 x 0.8 = 19.2 m3
Heat
splash max = 10 m3, so that's too big - check out our Eco+ heat pump
Typical
Pool Sizes and Volumes
8′ x 30″ Intex Above Ground Pool =
3.6 m3 – Hot Splash OK!
10′ x 30″ Intex Above Ground Pool = 5.5m3
- Hot Splash OK!
12′ x 36″ Intex Above Ground Pool = 9.6 m3
– Hot Splash
OK!
12'
round pool = 8.4 m3
