1. The fan passes air through the evaporator, and the refrigerant

2. The steam enters the compressor, and the compression increases the
temperature.
3. The hot steam is condensed in the heat exchanger, and the waste heat
enters the heating and hot water system
4. The condensed steam returns to the liquid, returns through the
expansion valve, reduces pressure and temperature, and prepares to start the
cycle again
