CO2 Heat Pump How does it work

CO2 hot water heat pump is a perfect alternative to the traditional electric cylinder and instant gas heat water system in the family.

 

The CO2 heat pump absorbs the natural heat generated from the air, amplified and transmitted to heating water. Also known as air source heat pump, they use electricity to operate the compressor instead of heating electrical components.

 

How does CO2 hot water heat pump work?

1. Natural CO2 refrigerant absorbs the heat in the air

2. The compressor concentrates the heat in the CO2 refrigerant, and passes the heat to the water

3. Cold water from the steel cylinder pump and heat it to 63 °C by recycling the compressor

4. Use the hot water of the recycled compressor to heated the cylinder from top to bottom

5. Once the sensor in the cylinder reaches 60 °C, the recycling controller will turn off the heat pump compressor

 

The efficiency of the CO2 system is almost five times that of traditional thermal water tanks with electrical components. They can save energy, funds and reduce greenhouse gas emissions related to power generation.

 

Is it good to perform in the cold area?

Yes, in fact, recycling CO2 heat pumps can perform excellent performance even in very cold weather. Because natural carbon dioxide (CO2) is used as a unique feature of refrigerant at 1 °C air temperature, the energy output provided by the CO2 heat pump is still more than four times the power used (COP 4.3). This performance means that the amount of water heating can save 75%compared with electrical components.

 

At -5 °C, the output is still almost three times the input (COP 2.9). Under the extreme temperature of -10 °C, you will get 2.4 times the power thermal output.

 

Once the temperature drops below the freezing point, the heat pump will occasionally a defrost cycle to clear the ice on the heat dissipation tablet. The energy required for this is included in the savings calculated above, so it always maintains high performance.

 

Is it good for the environment to use CO2 heat pump for heat water?

It is worth noting that the CO2 heat pump uses carbon dioxide as a refrigerant and will not release it to the atmosphere. The use of fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, oil, etc.) heating water will release global detergent gas at all stages of its production, including carbon dioxide. Because the CO2 heat water thermal pump is very efficient, the use of them can greatly reduce the emissions of global heating gas, because the required power is much less, thereby reducing the impact of power generation on the environment.
