Geothermal Heat Pump Diagram
If you visit a house equipped with geothermal heating and refrigeration, you may not notice that it is different from the house equipped with a standard heat pump. The biggest difference is no external or outdoor compressor. This device is usually the source of noise complaints, because large fans inhale a large amount of air through the outdoor tray to extract and/or inject the heat in the coating of the outdoor mechanical refrigerant. You can clearly see the outdoor unit in the figure below.
Loop
You already know that the geothermal system uses outdoor loops. To display the loop, a very simple loop shows the following figure. There are different ways to install the loop. They can be stacked together. They can be a long tube that crosses in large holes. They can also be vertical loops installed in the soil vertical well.

Your batch size, system type and load, and soil composition will control the type of loop you want to install. Don't try to design it yourself. Get two or three quotes or opinions, and find meaningful content.
If you get contradictory opinions or designs, please start asking a lot of questions. Write the answer. Compared with each contractor to take notes, let them respond to the points. The most important thing is that before signing the contract, please get the written installation instructions from the actual manufacturer. Whether the method proposed by the contractor is in line with what the manufacturer said. If you don't do this, you may encounter problems in the future!
