Installation tips
If you install and maintain your heat pump pool heater properly, it can easily last five to ten years or more with maximum energy efficiency.
We recommend having a qualified pool professional or electrician install the heater. Especially for wires and connections.
Heat pumps require a lot of air circulation and work best outdoors with adequate clearance around the unit and no obstructions. Pay attention to the location of the heater; on level ground near the pool pump or filter, and ensure airflow is restricted. Your owner's manual will detail the proper clearances, where the heat pump will work with your equipment, and the ideal location of the equipment.
How far should I install a heat pump from my swimming pool?
Install the heater as close to the filter as possible and about 25 feet from the pool. Since the plumbing is in the ground, installing the equipment farther away may result in heat loss.
An "ideal" installation would have about 24" of clearance around the unit with no obstructions above it. We've seen many exceptions, if you think there are exceptions, please call us and we can fix them.
If you are not sure where to install your heat pump, contact us to determine if the capacity of the heater is suitable for your swimming pool and the distance between the heat pump and the filter.

Finish installation
Once everything is connected, let your pump run for a few minutes to allow water to fully enter all pipes and check for any leaks before turning on the unit. Enjoy your new pool heat pump!
