What Size of Air Source Heat Pump is Suitable for a 300 Square Meter House

For a 300 square meter house, the selection of an air source heat pump requires comprehensive consideration of factors such as heating demand, building insulation performance, and local climatic conditions. The following is a detailed analysis and suggestions:

 

1. Heating demand

According to the evidence, in general, each air source heat pump with a cooling capacity of 1.5kW can cover a heating area of about 20 square meters. Therefore, for a 300 square meter house, theoretically 15 P (i.e. 22.5kW) of air source heat pumps are required to meet basic heating needs.

 

However, if the building insulation performance is poor, a larger power, such as an 18-P or 20-P heat pump, may be required.

 

2. Domestic hot water demand

If domestic hot water is also required, according to the evidence, a 300 square meter house usually needs to be equipped with an air source water heater with a capacity of 500 liters or 300 liters.
