Comparison of Costs between Air Source Heat Pump Heating and Electric Heating

There is a significant difference in costs between air source heat pump heating and electric heating. Air source heat pump heating is generally considered a more economical and environmentally friendly heating method.

 

1. Cost comparison

Air source heat pump heating

Air source heat pump heating heats by absorbing heat from the air, and its energy efficiency ratio (COP) is usually between 3 and 4, that is, consuming 1 kWh of electricity can generate 3 to 4 degrees of heat energy. For example, taking a 100 square meter house as an example, assuming an electricity price of 0.5 yuan/kWh, the daily electricity bill for air source heat pump heating is about 20 yuan, the monthly cost is about 600 yuan, and the cost for the entire heating season (about 4 months) is about 2,400 yuan.

 

Electric heating

Electric heating directly converts electrical energy into heat energy, and its efficiency is usually between 80% and 90%. For example, for the same 100 square meter house, if the electricity price is 0.58 yuan/kWh, the daily electricity bill for electric heating is about 120 to 150 yuan, and the monthly cost is about 3,600 yuan.

 

2. Energy-saving effect

The energy-saving effect of air source heat pump heating is significant. Due to its high energy efficiency ratio, the operating cost of air source heat pump heating is low, and it can save about 75% of electricity bills compared with traditional electric heating equipment.

 

Compared with gas wall-mounted boilers, air source heat pump heating can save about 62% of costs.

 

3. Environmental protection

Air source heat pump heating does not burn any fuel, so it does not produce harmful gas emissions and is environmentally friendly.

Compared with traditional coal-fired or electric boiler heating methods, air source heat pump heating is more low-carbon and environmentally friendly.

 

4. Initial investment

The initial investment of air source heat pump heating is relatively high, but considering the low long-term operating cost, it is generally economical.

 

For self-built houses, air source heat pump heating is not only energy-saving but also environmentally friendly, and is a recommended choice.

 

Air source heat pump heating has more advantages than electric heating in terms of cost, especially in areas with lower electricity costs, and its long-term operating costs are lower. In addition, air source heat pump heating also has the advantages of environmental protection and safety, and is suitable for families pursuing green and low-carbon life.
