How to Prevent Freezing of Air Source Heat Pump in Winter?

Air source heat pump needs to take a series of measures to prevent freezing in winter to ensure that the equipment can operate normally and provide a stable hot water supply in low temperature environment. The following are detailed antifreeze measures:

 

1. Pipe insulation

The pipe should be well insulated. When the high environment reaches a certain freezing point, insulation cotton or polyurethane foam can be used for insulation. Insulation cotton is used for small diameter pipes, and polyurethane foam is used for large diameter pipes, and aluminum foil tape is wrapped for insulation.

 

2. Set temperature

When the host is not needed to work, set the set temperature of the unit to the lowest, so that the unit can ensure the antifreeze function.

 

3. Drain the water in the system

If it is not used or shut down for a long time, the water in the unit, water pump and outdoor pipeline should be drained to prevent freezing of the equipment. In extremely cold conditions, the exhaust valve in the system can be used for emptying.

 

4. Add antifreeze

In winter, when it is inconvenient to empty the unit and there may be a water and power outage, the entire system must be added with antifreeze, and the appropriate antifreeze should be selected according to the local minimum temperature.

 

5. Regular inspection and maintenance

Regularly check the operating status of the equipment, especially in extreme weather, clean the frost in time to ensure the normal operation of the unit. At the same time, regularly check the antifreeze concentration in the system, whether the pipeline is leaking, the working status of the heater, etc. to ensure the normal operation of the system.

 

6. Handle condensed water

Properly handle condensed water, clean the pipeline regularly, reasonably design the location of the condensed water pipeline, increase the installation height of the main unit or use heating tape for insulation.

 

7. Avoid knocking on frozen pipes

If the pipe is found to be frozen but not cracked, do not knock on the pipe or pour hot water, and wait for it to melt naturally.

 

The above measures can effectively prevent the air source heat pump from being damaged by low temperature in winter, ensure its stable operation and provide comfortable hot water supply for the family.
