Which is more Cost-effective, an Air Source Heat Pump or a Wall-mounted Boiler?

Which is more cost-effective, an air source heat pump or a wall-mounted boiler? This depends on a variety of factors, such as region, home insulation quality, and indoor temperature. Generally speaking, under the same conditions, an air source heat pump is more cost-effective than a wall-mounted boiler.

 

An air source heat pump utilizes free heat in the air to generate heat, while a wall-mounted boiler requires natural gas to generate heat. Therefore, an air source heat pump consumes less energy. Furthermore, the operating costs of an air source heat pump are significantly lower than those of a wall-mounted boiler. According to statistics, an air source heat pump system is approximately 30% cheaper than a gas-fired wall-mounted boiler.

 

However, the initial installation cost of an air source heat pump is relatively high, typically ranging from 8,000 to 15,000 yuan, and can be as high as 15,000 to 30,000 yuan. However, in the long run, its lower operating costs make it more cost-effective than a wall-mounted boiler.

 

Wall-mounted boilers have higher maintenance costs, and their efficiency decreases over time, requiring replacement.
